Independent & Semi-Independent Living Skills

Community Connections Partnerships believes that independent living skills support prepares people to succeed on their own and develop a solid set of skills.

THIS TYPICALLY INCLUDES:

HEALTHY LIVING

Self-Advocacy · Lifestyle Choices · Cooking · Shopping · Exercise

SKILL BUILDING

Maintain household · Household chores · Personal safety and care · Use of public transportation · Communication skills · Build Relationships

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Budgeting · Requesting needed information · Help completing forms · Financial crisis management

Community Connections Partnership builds skills through observation of positive role models, role playing, trial and error and through experience and repetition. We identify a person’s learning style and meet them where they are at to increase success. We encourage relationships through social activities and strive to create balance in all aspects of their lives.

In order to be eligible for ILS services, the individual must have a CADI (community alternatives for disabled individuals) waiver.
